How excited we were to finally start the thrilling project! The first meetings took place on 28-29.04.2022 in Warsaw. We were very busy, as except for the regular agenda we managed to visit two partner schools - Academy of Good Education and Free School Ursynów!
On the first day, we took part in some team-building activities and got to know each other. We had a lot of fun, quickly made new friends and established a rapport that will ensure fruitful cooperation in the future. We talked about the matter in hand of the project which is homeschooling. We exchanged information about what homeschooling means to us and discussed the differences between homeschooling in Poland and Iceland. We also got to know the timeline of the entire project and the most important dates and deadlines. We discussed the components and results of the project and developed the contract for group work.
It turned out that all the participants have huge experience with homeschooling, but our experience varies, so we all can be each other’s teachers and a great source of knowledge.
On the second day, the Polish partners presented the official procedures and rules of homeschooling in Poland. Together, we started to create a document which will help Polish schools improve homeschooling - the first Intellectual Output of the project, Guidebook Step Zero. Our document will contain a list of good practices to be copied and incorporated into the Polish education system. We will continue working asynchronously on this task in the offline and online environment.
All participants were very pleased with the time spent together. The Polish partners are impatiently waiting to meet again in Iceland and continue the work.
